French I
French I is the first course in a three year sequence. At the end of French I, students are required to take and pass the NYS Proficiency Exam. The aims of this course include helping a student develop proficiency in the French language. Careful attention is paid to the four basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French. In this class, communicative skills are formed and an appreciation for French culture is, hopefully, developed.
