"Eden" | |||||||
There you are, Unknown to the rest of the world, Lying between two civilizations. Hidden from prying eyes, From law makers, from tax payers, From those seeking industrialization. The last sanctuary, Untouched by technology, Unblemished land in a scarred nation. There you sit, Standing out of the grime, Like a spot of white in a sea of black. Within this paradise Roam herds of wildlife, Ever safe from man’s vicious attack. Majestic pines Sway to and fro in the warm wind, And underneath, wolves gather in packs. Vast fields of gold That shimmer and shift in the breeze, Spread over the hills as far as the eye can see. Crickets and frogs Sing their joyful songs While sitting next to babbling brooks and streams. So peaceful, So full of innocence. It would be this way forever it seems. But time will catch up in the end. Technology will conquer nature and then A paradise will be lost again. |
