Middle East & North Africa ...an important unit with notes, worksheets, vocabulary, a video, a map test, and a unit test; about 2 weeks. Africa South of the Sahara ...a short unit that focuses on prior colonization of Africa and modern problems facing the region with a multi-media presentation, a handout worksheet, a video, and no test. South Asia ...an important sub-unit with notes, worksheets, vocabulary, a video, and a map test. Focuses on India and the surrounding countries. |
East Asia ...important conclusion to the Asia unit with notes, vocabulary, a video, worksheets, a map test and a unit test that covers all of Asia. This half focuses on China, Japan, and the surrounding countries. Australia and the Pacific World ...a short unit that includes Australia, New Zealand, and Antarctica with worksheets, a video, and activity sheets. Semester Test Revew After finishing our text book, the class will review for our comprehensive exam. |

Unit 1 - Introduction to Geography, chapters 1-4. Pretty basic, with emphesis on vocabulary and comprehension. Unit 2 - North America. For our textbook purposes, North America Unit only includes the US and Canada. Tests include the 50 state map with capitals for bonus and a unit test. Unit 3 - Latin America. Included are Mexico, Central America, the Carribean Islands, and South America. Some place names and terms may be unfamiliar, so really pay attention and study when we get here. All of the easy stuff is behind us. |
Unit 4 - Europe. For purposes of things you need to know for World History, Europe tops the list! Do NOT forget these countries on your map. This is a major unit. There will be a sub-unit on Eastern Europe, but it will not have it's own unit test due to time restraints. We will hit only the most important facts and places for Eastern Europe and Northern Eurasia. 9 Weeks Exam - will cover all information covered thus far. It will be a multiple choice scan tron, so a pencil is required. |
