Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD)
1 Semester, 1/2 credit

 

This is an entry-level course in drafting and design created to give students instruction and practice with a variety of drafting tools and procedures. Elements of quality, design, technological problem solving, and planning are emphasized. Students will acquire the skills and concepts used to draw beginning with basic drafting tools and will progress into the proficient use of state-of-the-art computer assisted drawing software.

Specific content will include multi-view drawing techniques, dimensioning, sectional drawings, pictorial drawings, development drawings, and architectural concepts. Students will also be given the opportunity to design and create model projects throughout the semester. Drawings and projects will be assessed in respect to accuracy, neatness, completeness of solution, and compliance to industry drafting standards.

This course prepares students for college and career opportunities in engineering and technology related fields.
