The Newseum
One of the newest additions to the Washington D.C. area, this museum explores the history of news reporting in America.  It includes artifacts from throughout our history, a tribute to journalists who have lost their lives while covering stories, and a number of hands-on exhibits to capture students' interest.

Reporting live from... Students create their own newscasts, visible on the overhead monitors.
Note the use of bluescreens to edit in the appropriate backdrops.

Easy on the gesturing there, guys!  Ah, how many fingers are you holding up?  I count...12.  Uhoh.

People lining up to watch the video shoots, or to take part in them.

Consider how this message has changed since 1770: now it's television and the Internet...
and new stories come out every SECOND, not every day!
Be careful to THINK about the news - take the time to analyze it,
and don't get caught up in the need to hear / see something new all the time.
