On January 29th, 2002, Demetria and the Grinch decided it was time to make their love whole. Like no other, they could not help but make the night a special one. Even if it was not real, and most of the people invited did not show as planned, it was a wonderful afternoon! The wedding started at close to 11:30 A.M. central time and lasted until close to 1 P.M. (including the party). It was probably the shortest wedding in all history, but trying to make plans fit was very hard. Demetria began to place her lovely black gothic gown on and good luck charms on. "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...

Mean-while, the Grinch was pacing helplessly out in the main room. The men tried to calm him, but it was not very successful. How could anyone NOT be nervous or excited? Finally, the big moment was about ready to happen. Everyone seated themselves in place and the music began softly. To the Grinch and Demetria the wait was long, but soon they would meet again, almost as they had done such a long time ago.

The music played slowly as the flower girls threw red and white rose petals on the red carpet leading them to the altar, while the small young ringbearers held their ring pillows tightly. Bridesmaids entered with huge grins as they hung to the best men that had courted them down the aisle. Then, came the beautiful Maid of Honor with the best man looking mighty handsome together as they walked. The song that the wedding party slowly faded, and that very well known song for the bride to enter came sang throughout the cave. The lovers' hearts fluddubbed wildly knowing that the time has come!

Demetria walked slowly. The black veil hid her face slightly as she past by all the watchers. Looking slightly from side to side, as if seeing who had all chose to come. As she made her way closer to the Grinch and the Justice Of The Peace, a tear fell down her right cheek slowly.

The Grinch took hold of Demetria's hand gently and led her the rest of the way to the altar. The Justice Of The Peace held a glass out to the Grinch and he sipped it, then handed to Demetria for her to taste. They handed the goblet back and listen silently as the Justice Of The Peace continued to speak with his booming voice. It was now time to light the candle, so Demetria and the Grinch took a black candle and together lighted the single black candle on the altar. The rings were given to them by the ring bearer, and the Grinch smiled as he took the ring from the small boy. The Grinch took hold of Demetria's hand placing the ring on her finger, he announced, "With this ring I thee wed." Demetria began to do the same thing as a tear again rolled down her cheek. "With this ring I thee wed."

The Grinch smiled and he too began to have tears. The Justice Of The Peace again spoke, then finally stood next to the couple and prounced, "I now prounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride, Grinch." So the Grinch took hold of both Demetria's hands whispered how much he loved her, then kissed her. Their cake stood, green and grinchy and ready for the first bite to be taken. Out of pure luck, Demetria did save one piece for herself and the Grinch; which was fed to each other with their hands.
