Some pages are kind and have the date up near the title.  You will have to search for it in others, but when all else fails, check the fine print at the bottom.   Sometimes it’s only a year.  That’s okay.  Work with what you have. For this webpage, the citation should read:
12 Sep 2004.
Note the order of the date.  The day comes first, then the month, but only the first three letters of the month, and then the year.  The only months that should not be abbreviated like this are May, June, and July, for obvious reasons.  And once again, do not forget that period!

So far, your citation should look like this:
Huertero, Laura. "Webpage Citation in a Nutshell." Fairmont High School. 12

         Sep 2004.
At this point, you should notice two new things.
The citation is double-spaced, and it has a hanging indent.

Double-spacing can be applied easily in Microsoft Word by first highlighting your entire citation . . .
Huertero, Laura. "Webpage Citation in a Nutshell." Fairmont High School. 12
Then hit Ctrl and the number 2 at the same time.

Keep your information highlighted.  You may click on “Format” at the top of your Word window, or simply right click the highlighted portion.
Sep 2004.
Huertero, Laura. "Webpage Citation in a Nutshell." Fairmont High School. 12

The drag your cursor down the drop window to Paragraph.  Click on the area marked “Special,” and selecting “Hanging from the options, and you’re done!
HINT: To quickly go back and forth between the directions on this page and your Microsoft Word document, simply hit Ctrl and Tab at the same time to shift the window you're looking at.
