Lessons learnt from the preceeding doggerel...

So now you've heard the yarn, top-dog, it's time you learnt fast-track,
that there's morals from this story, for a leader of the pack.
They say you can't teach new tricks to a dog that's getting old.
but that does not account for the persistent, and the bold.
Some dogs are always yappy, but they're more bark than they're bite.
Besides, it's the size of the fight in the dog; not the size of the dog in the fight.
Remember too, no matter who, let sleeping doggies lie.
(I don't say this to take the piss; You're a younger pup than I)
And if you sleep with other dogs, you'll wake with more than fleas:
Some dogs don't take it lying down. My plee's, 'Be careful, please'.
So as you run among the pack, to sniff and howl and play,
remember this advice old friend; each dog will have it's day.
Some days your bowl is empty, then on some you're eating quiche`.
And times will come, you'll feel chained down; yet others, off your leash.
One day your in the doghouse; then your next day's grouse! (That's good.)
The backyard is your kingdom, and you'll roam your neighbourhood.
So when life presents a hurdle, or some shielding wall or screen,
Keep your cool; stay focussed; it won't help to vent your spleen.
And if you can't find footholds, or your stuck without a ladder;
to ease your load, remember Horse, ... then go and vent your bladder!
