Some of my favourite poets and poems inculde ...
Col Wilson ('Blue the shearer')
"My mower" - Been there. Done it.
"The trailer" - Been there. Still there.
"Grandkids" - Clever sidestep of a rude word. Still makes me smile.

Bob Magor
"Snakes alive" - Sublime use of vocabulary within the confines of poetic form.
"The Day I shot the telly" - Delightful black humour.

Keith Lethbridge
"Mum's driving lesson" - Vivid imagery brings the poem to life.

Claude Morris
"The grave situation" - Begs the question, "Where did he get the idea?"
"Trouble brewing" - Wonderfully descriptive language.

Geoff Hendrick
"A minor point of view" - An action packed, poetic dynamo.

John Hosking - I have seen John perform live. His voice is superb for recital, and he delivers poetry with finese.
"The mad hatter" - An easy story to identify with.
"That caps it" - A perfect sequel, with the justice that poets are reknown for..

Eric Bogle - (Sets his poems to music, so qualifies as a songwriter, too. I have seen him perform live, and have two of his CD's, and borrowed two others from the library)
"He's nobody's moggy now" - Reminds me of my own moggy. I'll laugh about it one day.
"It's not cricket" - My sentiments precisely.
"And the band played waltzing Matilda" - The most moving Australian song I know.

Milton Taylor  - (I've seen him perfom live. Twice! Inspirational)
"Mothers & sons" - Art imitating life. Beautiful.
"In recognition of Qld Poets" - A masterful comparison. Inspired my "Kanga-bies & walla-roo's"

Don Lloyd ('The Mongrel') - I have a CD of his.
"The horse's tale" - A fresh perspective, well told.
"A bad day"    - Quintessential poetic justice!

Jim Haynes (I've seen him live. He has compiled some wonderful books of Australian poetry)
"No thanks I'll have chips" - A choice example of his love of his country.
