Purple Cow Crazy

Amongst those things that make me quease
I'd have to list mad cow disease,
but bovine madness seems most vivid
when writers mention cows of livid.

You see to me it seems obtuse
to fathom cattle coloured puce
(and even if your name is Bruce, a purple cow is no excuse, so let it loose.)

The funny farm number! Quickly dial it!
'Coz really; Livestock coloured violet?
No royal corgy or palacial beagle
has been described in shades so regal.

A heifer all covered in purpley pox?
The colour's not fit for such beast as ox.
I thought a beast of lilac hueing
might be spied, but ... Nothing doing!

A herd of crison is quite unheard of.
If there was such, we would have got word of
calves that are lavendar? Kine that are mauve?
I've never seen such all the years that I've rove!

Plum-coloured shorthorn? Give me a break!
How strange that would seem when we next ordered steak.
