Why would anyone live in the bush? (c) MrsMyth

So you want my opinion?
(He's given me his.)
It's not always easy,
but nothing good is.

Sure there are hardships.
Times can get tough.
It may test your fibre;
Have you the right stuff?

You might find it lonely,
but hang on, don't moan.
There's plenty just like you;
you're not so alone.

What is it that keeps them,
these folk on the land?
What are their reasons;
this bush loving band?

The people? The pace?
The stars? The space?
Clean and fresh air?
Car parking space?

Much lower rent.
Much lower crime.
Much lower stress,
much of the time.

Friendly farmers.
Folk who like fun.
Can see the horizon.
Can bathe in the sun.

Community spirit;
Where you belong.
Are you starting to sense
that your question is wrong?

Now that I think of it,
what is the choice?
Life in the big smoke?
Another lone voice?

Traffic congestion.
The high cost of living.
Folks have forgotten
the lost art of giving.

Cars and pollution?
It doesn't sound pretty.

Why would anyone ...
  live in the city?
