Laboratory for Personal Language
You have entered my arena for public experimentation.
I am a practicing writer who lives in Wyoming. Mostly I write for a small newspaper in Rawlins, but I also do an occasional freelance piece. And I publish poetry.
This site exists because I write for personal reasons, which means much of what I do is of little interest to magazines or newspapers. The writing here may be of value to you, however, especially if you enjoy poetry or if you are interested in the writing process.
This site has been a great benefit for me. I have found writing for publication, even if it is self-publication such as this, forces one to focus, clarify and elevate the language. This makes the journal entries more precise, the imagery more evocative and the essays more complete.
The site also provides me a way to republish writings which have appeared in print. And I have used it to try out pieces I wish to publish but am unsure of. Putting the words out there where people can see forces me to look at the pieces with a new eye.
All aspects of writing interests me, from journalism to poetry. Feel free to drop me a line.
