If you're still with me at this point i'm sure you're wondering about the technical aspects of this project; so am I. In case I haven't mentioned it this peice will measure 4 feet by 6 feet unframed. This is entirely the fault of my art teacher. See, I was trying to recreate some of Klimts patterns and they kept coming out all blotchy and she says "he wasn't trying to paint so small, work bigger." and I thought "self, if working bigger helps then working much bigger should help a lot no? and here we are.

So, here's the plan thus far...

I'm going to be working on a 4 ft by 6 ft peice of quarter inch masonite. Masonite is  generaly used in building to underlay laminates such as countertops and has both a rough and a smooth surface. It has a great sturdiness compared to it's wieght and takes paint beautifully.

Because the peice is so large and because I hope to frame it I'll need to build a cradle to stabalize and extend the masonite surface.
