My Year-Long Adventure With The Aliens
I'm going to beat this little joke into the ground.
It started out as a little joke, something to say in between the serious stuff in my bio/resume. Until one day I visited Warner-Crivellaro, and someone said to me, "Hey Mike seen any aliens lately?"
I first had no idea what in the world he was talking about. Then I remembered the little joke. I never thought anyone actually read my bio, let alone remembered any of it.
So I decided to stretch the joke out as far as I could, and I think this has done it pretty darn well. Most of it really doesn't have anything to do with stained glass. There's only so much you can actually write about stained glass and aliens anyway. It's a nice break, so sit back and read. Then when your finished reading and enjoying the pictures; you can review the pages at the bottom of the screen and see the hidden jokes that I stuck into most of them.
Basically it never really happened, or did it? They really don't want me talking, but the truth is out there, and it must be told.
For anyone wondering, all the pictures were made using only Photoshop using a mouse. If anyone has any problems seeing the pictures let me know. I don't think PhotoShop 4 saves JPG files right. I know Corel can't see them although Netscape can. I don't know if other browsers can see them.

This has been running for a few years now. I figure I'd point out a few thing about the cartoons that either no one noticed, or cared. I hid various things in each cartoon more or less, it's a part of my unique humor. In case your an active fan of the alien thing (and I know you are, your reading this aren't you?) I'll point out a few things in some of the cartoons.
These are a few things that you may not have noticed:
- Human Operation - I cleverly hid all the naughty parts from the view of children.
- Their Home - Notice the pyramids on the shelves? Aliens built the pyramids you know... It's an inside fact!
- Breakfast with the Aliens - Notice the cereal? Kodos and Kang are from the Simpsons.
- Mike get's the Key to the City - Did you find Waldo? Can you find the dud picking his nose? How about the pick pocket?
- Plant Life - Feed me Seymour! This is where the plant from Little Shop of Horrors came from. Aren't they cute?
- Aliens play golf? - I hate golf, can you tell?
- The Garage Sale - Notice the giant bag? The bag I usually carry is actually much bigger then this.
- Mike's version of Star Trek - The red shirt was mentioned in the text. Kenny is a reference from South Park (if you didn't know). And the big purple thing is from the Day of the Tentacle, the evil Purple Tentacle. Notice how I'm wearing the golden shirt (captain's color from the old Star Trek). Did you see the old tri-corder in the background?
- Spoo Ranch - The Spoo is a reference from Babylon 5, the Narn like eating it. It's said that their depressing signing drives people insane.
- Cruising to the mall - I think this one came out pretty neat. Darth looks a little, well... pansy. But hey look what here's walking. Also note that we are all wearing our seat belts. Did you also notice that Darth doesn't have a poop bag? Is he evil or what?
- The Mall Parking Lot - Most of the ships are from Babylon 5, the rest were taken from Star Trek and Star Wars. Notice the scale of us...
- The Biggest Mall in the Galaxy - The basic stuff you should recognize. Did you see the sign by the Bat'Leth's? It's Klingon, it says: Bat'Leth Sale. Actually it's Batlah (or something like that).... and yes I did go to the trouble of translating it to Klingon, I go for the details you know.
- The Farside Of the Universe - I think this came out pretty well. All the cartoons were from various books. The farmers shirt needed to be tweaked to look like that.
- As one other point to look for: did you notice what I was wearing? I made these cartoons from June, to about December. Subconsciously I made each cartoon reflect the weather. The one's with shorts, it was warm. The one's with a jacket, it was colder. If I was wearing pant's the day I drew myself, I would be wearing pant's in that cartoon. There a little mixed up in order though.
- Zorak and Moltar were characters from Space Ghost - Coast to Coast on cartoon network. My local cable company gave us a free sample of it, and it took years before we finally got that channel. Now that show isn't on anymore, or at least not at a time I want to watch it.
