This tutorial will explain a few of the many ways text can be used on tags.
When you have the tag done or have a blank tag that you have found and
want to add text to it, chose the color you want to use in the top color
box as shown below: (The green is your font color)
Then you find the A on your toolbar,
(should be on the left hand side)and click on it.
Put your cursor on the tag itself and left click with your
mouse. The font box will then appear, this is how it looks:
Choose the Name of the font, style and size.
Then Enter the text you wantto put on your tag as shown.
Click OK and the text will then appear on your tag like this:
The lines around your name will be blinking until you
click on the tag itself with your cursor.
But if you want to use more detail on your text, leave it blinking.
Remember, you can always go up to EDIT and UNDO,
if you want to change something or even bring back the blinking lines
if you change your mind and want to do something else.
While it is blinking, I will show you how to do the Drop Shadow.
Go up to IMAGE, then EFFECTS then DROP SHADOW as shown below:
Then a screen will appear like this:
You can then adjust the settings how you'd like them.
You can zoom in on the text if necessary.
Once you have it how you want it,click ok..
then your tag will look like this: (the lines will be blinking
Just click on the tag with your mouse and
you will have the finished text like this:
To do the CHISEL effect, rather then choosing DROP SHADOW,
click on CHISEL and this screen will come up:
(notice you have two options, Transparent and Background Color)
Making your tag look like this:
Now if you use the Transparent Chisel option and change the color
in the background color box to say pink.. you get this:
There is also a Cutout option, but to be honest...
I haven't really played with that one much yet... LOL
Other things you can do with the text:
If you have plugins, such as Eye Candy,
you can fill in the text and give them a 3D effect also.
You MUST do this while the text is still blinking.
Remember, if it's not blinking anymore, you can go back up
to EDIT and UNDO and get it blinking once again.
(Sometimes during trial and error, it may not be blinking for you)
If you could wear out that UNDO selection..I would have by now! LOL
Ok.. so while it's blinking.. let me show you just a few effects you
can give your text. I'll be using Eye Candy just for this example.
Go to IMAGE, PLUG-IN FILTERS and then EYE CANDY.
This effect is the INNER BEVEL:
Note: If after adding ANY special effect and you leave it blinking..
you can still use DROP SHADOW on it too. Like this:
This one is using the WEAVE effect and DROP SHADOW.
I changed the text size to 72.
SWIRL effect:
WATER DROPS effect:
You can do SO many things using other filters too and below
