The First Annual Birch
Thanksgiving Wine Competition 1997

This years first annual competition was conducted by a group of five distinguished judges who gathered around the dining table in the family vacation house at Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, USA.

Judges were Betsy, Susan, Todd, Michael, and Kathy.  

Scoring was supervised and tallied by Harry. 

Tasting implement supplier was David.  (Thanks for keeping those glasses coming!)

All rules were made up on the fly, and were subject to change without notice or provocation.

Entries were judged in four categories:

1. Bouquet
2. Taste
3. Legs
4. Finish
