Mobile Suit Description:
Possibly the most advanced GUNDAM thus far in the GAT series, the GAT-X303 Aegis GUNDAM is unique in that it has a transformation and then a subtransformation under that. The basic mode is mobile suit mode, but the Aegis GUNDAM can transform to a mobile armor mode in a period of less than 1.35 seconds. The mobile armor mode has two forms: normal cruising mode and attack mode. The Aegis GUNDAM is also unique in that all armaments are attached to the mobile suit itself via hardpoints. The mobile suit can operate hands-free and still have the basic handheld beam cannon and shield available within easy reach. The Aegis GUNDAM functions as the most offensive of the GAT series.
Igelstern anti-air gatling cannons - A triple-barrelled, clock-wise rotating gatling-type weapon, firing over 1600 rounds per minute in caliber 75 millimeter. Produced by Igelstern Arma Inc. Primary usage is the elimination of aerial threats, but also is used for elimination of light armored vehicles and distracting hits on enemy mobile suits. Aegis GUNDAM is equipped with two Igelstern gatling cannons, one mounted on either side of the mobile suit's head. Non-operable in MA mode.
beam sabers - Aegis GUNDAM's beam sabers are actually built into the mobile suit itself, located in the forearms and emit over the top of the Aegis' hand as well in the feet that emit over the top of the foot. Like most beam sabers, the energy blade is deadly at melee range and can easily tear through nearly any armor type.
beam cannon - A 60 millimeter diameter bore and an overall length of 8.8 meters, the Aegis GUNDAM's beam cannon is one of the largest handheld and most powerful beam-type cannons available. It is more advanced than the other GUNDAM's beam cannons and has improved range and accuracy. Fires 60 rounds per minute with a 28 round maximum energy capacity. Effective range of 2.5 kilometers and maximum accurate range of 3.2 kilometers. Stored on right hip mount when not in use.
Scylla energy cannon - Developed by Scylla Advanced Electronics, the Scylla energy cannon has an astounding bore diameter of 580 millimeters. Operable only in mobile armor attack mode, this cannon can down enemy battleships in a single devastating blast. Range of over 4 kilometers; power diminished over distance.
general-purpose shield - As the name describes, this is a shield meant for blocking or deflecting most forms of ballistic, explosive and beam/energy munitions. Handheld or forearm mounted. Overall length of 9.4 meters. Mounted on left hip mount when not in use.
