The images seem to be lighter in color and texture than text. In Fireworks, under 800% magnification, the images could definitely use more sharpining. Some effects that could be used to improve the quality of the images is "Bevel Boss", and "Adjust Color". The images themselves can pass for text if not modified or adjusted in any form.
