Jamie and her Dad have always had a very special relationship probably stemming from the fact he held her constantly for the first two years of her life.  They have the same wry and goofy sense of humor, always look for the best in people and treasure their friends and family highly.  Jamie was named after her father, James.  Had she been born a day earlier, her name would have been Elizabeth, Betsy for short (after Hurricane Betsy which her mom and dad had experienced 17 years earlier on that date); or a day later she would have been named Carolyn, after her Aunt Carol Morgan (whose birthday is on September 10), her Great Aunt Carol Hastman and her Great Uncle Lynn.  But all in all, the name Jamie did seem to suit her well and she took a great deal of pride in being named after her Dad.

Graduation 2002 ~ Jamie had a great time at Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge  and was excited to celebrate that time with family & friends.

The mention of my child's name
may bring tears to my eyes but it never fails to bring
music to my ears.
If you really are my friend,
let me hear the music of her name!
I soothes my broken heart
and sings to my soul.
