Rainy Days
I remember the rainy days
When you could not go out and play
Together we sat and watched the rain
As raindrops gathered on the pane.

I still recall our raindrop races
You always seemed to win first place.
Each drop slowly gliding down the glass
Oh how the time did pass.

After the rain you'd go out to play
Splashing through mud puddles along the way.
Jumping into the puddles brought much glee
Oh, what a sight for me to see.

You would call for me to came and play
We sure had fun on that rainy day
Now as I sit and watch the rain
How I wish we could do it again.

Though you're no longer here with me
I still hear you say
It's not raining Mom
Let's go out and play...
