Sit.... Stay.... Heel.... Good Dog!!!

<hears the Keeper laughing and saying 'yeah, right!'>

Shag (no rude comments now) came to live here after she ran away from home. The neighbourhood kids named her Shaggy, because she had long matted hair. Once she stopped going home at night, my neighbour and I clipped and bathed her. Turned out Shag was pregnant, so my neighbour fixed a place in her house for the puppies to be born. The day after the pups were born, Jennie had to go out of town for a week. Shag and pups came to my house, and she & Livingston never left. Shag is the head of her Clan.

Livingston is Shag's son. He earned his name, by being the first pup to explore outside of the whelping box, so he needed an exploreres name. There were a few nights I played footie with him, when I walked down the hall without turning on the light. Poor weedle dog, so mistreated. He was so spoiled, I used to carry him about like a baby. He and Tin are my alarm and guard system, I don't worry about burglars.Livingston is the only dog in his clan that wasn't a rescue. His sister Katie lives next door with Jennie.

Lucky Dog... she's such a lucky dog. The keeper brought in a young stray dog, just before a terrible ice storm. We couldn't leave her out, and he was going to find a home for her. We still have her 4 years later.

Tin was hit by a car and left to die. Some kind person took him to the veterinary clinic, where I was working. He became a charity case of one of the best Vets. His badly damaged leg and paw were repaired, but left him with a bad scar and deformed paw. Lacking the proper excercise to strengthen his muscles, he was limping badly, and falling on his face if he tried to run. Everyone wants a healthy, unblemished dog, and after a few months he hadn't been adopted. Due to space and the cost of upkeep, the clinic was going to put this poor stumbling oaf down. Having cared and played with him, since the day he was brought in, I couldn't let him just be sent on. Tin came home with me two years ago, and now has full use of his damaged leg. The name Tin, comes from the tail end of the name Rin Tin Tin.

Creation of the Dog

On the first day of creation, God created the dog.

On the second day, God created man to serve the dog.

On the third day, God created all the animals of the Earth to serve as potential food for the dog.

On the fourth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the dog.

On the fifth day, God created the tennis ball so that the dog might or might not retrieve it.

On the sixth day, God created veterinary science to keep the dog healthy and the man broke.

On the seventh day, God tried to rest, but He had to walk the dog.
