Oh No....... RATS!!!

EEEKK....... MICE!!!

Matilda was my first rat. She was brown with white on her stomach and white feet. I am on my third Matilda. I have never named a pet after one that has gone on to the Rainbow Bridge. But, for some reason, I decided there would always be a Matilda in the Rat Clan. In the first picture above, is MatildaIII with her former cage mate Doite. Shortly after Doite went to the Bridge, I brought home two more females to keep Matilda company. Sara and Lilly came from an all female colony. Two weeks later I discovered that a male rat had found a way to have his way with Lilly. Thirteen little pink kits were added to the Clan. Seven males and 6 females. Gromit, Avleen & Miten, and Malcolm are playing amoung the Easter Eggs.

Well, Gromit grew up and moved house. He didn't want to be alone, so he asked Tiger to join him. Tiger agreed and they found a nice little house, with a cozy sleeping loft. Here they are napping, after rigorous day of setting things to rights.

We have babies!! Born July 3, 1999, to Alse and either Gromit or Tigger. But, I am guessing both will deny it. Imagine 15 little pink kits, chirping like birds. You can see how small they are. Here they are two days old. Now to come up with more names from chat.
