Wish Beads
Today I wove a bracelet
With my hopes and dreams
And prayed I could start anew

Five simple beads
Integrated in a simple design
It's intent - all but simple
This "simple" token carries with it a weight
A weight I've carried since you left

Carefully I cross the strands
Silently chanting my mantra
Hoping maybe
...If I say it enough...
I'll believe that with each added bead
I'll find and take as mine:
The clarity to see through the debris of your wake
The strength to trudge through all you've left behind
The hope to keep me looking ahead
The will to live, to love
And the luck to find someone greater than you

Wrapped around my wrist,
It'll be a constant reminder
Of the strength I'll need
To go on without you

I'll survive
I've already proved that

But will I want to?
Now that you don't want me anymore
