Unraveling
Like a string tugging away from a skirt
Slowly, I’m unraveling
More complicated than it seems,
I wish you’d break me
Take the pain away

Clinging on to you
I wait the inevitable
Hope for, rather,
You to cut me off
End my uncertainty

Your hand comes near
I close my eyes
And wait to be yanked from you

But you pick me up,
Curiously inspect me
Stroke me
And let me dangle once again

I’m just a part of you that can wait
Wait for what?
Just break me
I know you want to
Back to my poetry
