Original Poetry written by me about Lost love, the beach, cats, everyday living, humor, and much more!
          Alone

As I lay in my bed watching
shadows of moonlight dancing on the wall,
I'm thinking, thinking, thinking,
is this really all?

My mind is racing
as my thoughts run to and fro.
How do I keep on living
with my heart hurting so?

My eyes search the darkness
as I toss and tumble and try to sleep.
My pain runs so deeply within
I cannot even weep.

There's not a sound in the darkness
except my own pained moan.
Anguish deep in my soul,
I am alone, alone, alone.

                   Lies

You turn your gaze to the ceiling,
you can't even look me in the eyes.
I wonder, is this just another
of your many many lies?

It's hard to tell anymore,
I have to admit it's true.
Sometimes it's so hard to tell,
I just haven't got a clue.

You've become so good at lying
over these many years.
At times I'm so astounded
I just can't believe my ears.

Yet there was a time
when I trusted you with my life.
I thought the sun rose and set in you
when I became you're wife.

I never would have dreamed
one day you would not be mine.
Funny how love can die,
slowly, one lie at a time.

        Silent Voice

Can't you hear me,
can't you hear my heart crying?
Can't you feel my agony,
or hear my painfilled sighing?

Can't you feel all my pain?
How can you not feel what I feel?
How can you wipe out our past
as if it was never real?

Can't you see it in my eyes,
the depth of the hurt in my heart?
My eyes must be pools of pain,
you tore my world apart.

If I could will you back
with my mind, I would do it.
Can't you hear my mind screaming,
though my voice is still silent?

             I Dreamed Of You

I dreamed about you last night,
your face lingered in my mind.
It was a bit disturbing,
dreaming of you after all this time.

Why now, when my heart has
been broken by another,
should I be thinking of you?
I wish you could comfort me,
the way you used to do.

So handsome in your uniform,
you served your country with pride.
I remember how my heart ached,
the day I learned you had died.

Odd that you enter my dreams now,
odd that I still miss you so.
Strange how the heart remembers,
I buried you years ago.

          Hidden Dreams

When you were younger
you followed your dreams
to many places far and wide,
and loved it all it seems.

But now that you are older
you put your dreams on hold,
as if saving them for a rainy day,
hiding them away like gold.

Taking them from their hidden place
to dwell over once in a while,
you dust off all the cobwebs
and hug them to you with a smile.

You promise yourself again
that someday in the future,
you'll do something just for you.
This time you mean it for sure.

Then you put the dreams away again,
back in your favorite hiding place.
Tucking them safely in your memory
where no one else can find a trace.

Why do you put your dreams on hold,
when living them is what you need?
Take them out and dust them off,
it's time to let your dreams be freed.
