Submission Guidelines

1.) All stories must be readable. Heavy spelling, grammar or formatting errors will result in it being sent back to you. We prefer that you have a beta reader or editor look it over, but that's no longer a requirement.

2.) Stories can be sent via attachments in either HTML or .txt format. No imbedded image files or backgrounds, please. We prefer white background, black text, but if you prefer something else, that's fine. All we want is to make sure it's in a readable font, and size.

3.) All stories must have the disclaimers attached, as well as the author's name, and the beta's or editor's. All authors should have an e-mail addy attached, but if you have a reason you don't want your e-mail to get out, tell us. We can work something out.

4.) All stories should have a rating attached. Don't know what to rate it? Below is the system most commonly used:

G: "General". Suitable for all audiences. No swearing, sex, violence, or anything that you would mind letting your 8 year old read.

PG: "Parental Guidance". This is still usually readable for just about anyone, but may contain some harsher language, or possible references to sexual or violent themes.

PG-13: A step up from PG. Not suitable for anyone under 13. Mild violence, or suggestive themes, and sometimes swearing.

R: "Restricted". Violence, sex (nondescript), swearing... not as graphic as the next rating, but it's still not for young'uns.

NC-17: Anything goes, really. Graphic sex, violence, cussing that would freak sailors out... you name it. This is actually illegal for minors to read, but how much of this do you honestly expect to see here? Really.

5.) Speaking on the subject of R and NC-17 -- thus far, this site has no stories above a PG-13 rating. We would like to keep it that way. However, if you have an R or NC-17 fic that's absolutely brilliant, with perfect characterization, plot, grammar and continuity, we may be willing to accept it. But it had better be really fricken amazing. Seriously. That goes triple for slash -- it better be a masterpiece of perfection.

6.) No Mary Sues. In fact, no self-inserts at all, except for in Subreality fics. In Subreality fics, pretty much anything goes.

7.) The only MSTings we accept are MSTings of MST3K fanfic. No others.

Okay, still here? Great! Attach your fic via e-mail to: mst3kfiction@yahoo.com. What will happen then is, it'll be read through by probably two different people. It might get sent back for corrections, or it might just be put up. We'll e-mail you either way, though. We're not heartless over here. ;-) Just be prepared for a bit of a lag -- all of us do have real lives out here, and this site is run by volunteers.

So what're you waiting for? Send 'em in!
