We agree. We are a couple watching the games for the first time (my fiance has watched them for years), and we are both disgusted and outraged at all of the invasive nonsense that the network is pulling during this much anticipated world event. My fiance's enthusiasm has gotten me all amped up to watch the games. We are both upset about ABC's lack of pre and half time coverage. We did not appreciate the commentary from the Belmont?? horse track over a event that wasn't seen fit enough to attend in person. I am personally outraged that I have had to wage an occular battle over distractions that at one time covered two thirds of the football action on the screen. As I write, it is further upsetting that the golf programming that has followed the Sweden vs. TnT game I just tried to watch is being aired with the transparent ABC station I.D. politely sitting in the corner with infrequent player stats and reasonable flag swipes. Yes sadly, English is our first language and we at times do flip between Univision's coverage and that or the lack of on ABC/Espn. If the broadcasters don't respond to these message boards or people like us calling in then I think we will become dedicated Univision viewers for the duration of the games, regardless of our unilingual handicap. Much encouragment to anyone who would be willing to translate the Univision coverage into English and make it available to viewers. It is apparent that their network loves this game enough to show it how it should be seen. home |
