i feel like writing a masterpiece. a poem that would really and truly move, communicate and inspire as powerful a feeling as the one that i was blessed to revel in last night.

my girls, (sandra, alice), and i got the word and sho nuff buddy we hit the road. the three of us are something special. i love hearing our voices: our highs, our lows; and our laughter.  it was a good time simply being ourselves and together on the way to our anticipated destination.

we left at a quarter to eight and arrived poet promptly around 9. i was instantly excited at my right foot touching the pomona parking lot floor.  if one could have seen my soul, i'm sure they would have seen metallic gold flares shimmering around a red core. women were every where. being greeted, smiled at hugged and seated. looking good.  looking alive, awake and beautiful. i've not seen so many of us gathered at one location and so aich ayee pea pea why (happy).

tamera blue.

when i just typed that, i felt what i felt when i saw her. love. this is her baby. and i know bess kepp is there, wonderfully doing what he does. but tamera. she puts her all into these special nights 5 strong. she gives us back to us. we're all here. working and growing...strectching. knowing. working this craft for every thing it's worth.  but on these ladies' nights, she brings in a life-sized concave panoramic lense, sets it on stage and is like, "what? oh no, y'all gone see y'all selves to NITE."
i saw us all and hmph, while some of these men just might be from mars,  us ladies, and more specifically us lady poets...we are our own universe. (i was going to say planet here, but be real...we embrace the space between us.)

more to come
