The dream dress was my first Arwen costume, I just thought it was pretty. The fabric is kind of cool in some lights it looks purple and in others it looks blue. I ended up buying the evenstar pendant for this outfit even though she doesn't have it at this point in the movies, because it was pretty and I wanted it.
The Coronation dress was an interesting ordeal. It started out in the Denver fabrics Annex, which is now closed, with me finding the perfect lime green stretch velvet for the dress. I then spent some time, aka a lot of time, looking for fabric for the underdress, I finally settled on a pale green patterened fabric which I hand beaded. I think I remade the underdress a total of three times, including removing the beading and putting it back on. I'm still not totally satisfied with it. The crown, well I didn't really have a crown I had a silver chain necklace with a adventurine leaf wired to it, because in the concept pictures for a dress there is no crown. That and I didn't know how to make one. |
