| This costume was literally put together in less than two weeks. I bought the fabric two and a half weeks before Nan Desu Kan 10 (2006). I started on it that weekend. I finished putting the kimono together, the Obi and sash that week and then I spent the rest of the next week painting the kimono, cutting the wig, and making the bracelet. Thankfully the yellow tie I used was already made. Having been a not so great sash for my Kagura costume, I almost threw it out after I made the final one but I didn't and it has now found its home as part of this costume. The geta I wore I bought with Amanda when we were at Pacific Mercantile, at the time I didn't know what I was going to use them for but I bought them anyway. Go me! Special thanks to Amanda for getting me into this series, maybe someday I'll have the guts to pull off her second season kimono. The flowers were repainted in March of 2007, at first I didn't think adding in the flower details looked that good but the more I did the better it looked. |
