Lei Fang (6 outfits) ~ Dead or Alive
About the Costumes
Well my Leifang tradition started with her ending outfit from DOA3 I found the perfect skirt at Savers and got the shirt at ross, bought some clear shoes, which I decorated with rinestones and I had a Leifang costume.
~Number 2, 1st player outfit from the 2nd game which is the red and green Chinese dress. This is the costume I wanted to do first but it was a bit more difficult than finding clothes at savers. I had to alter a pattern to heck to get it to look like hers I also had to flip the front pieces so that it opened on the right side instead of the left. This outfit is fully lined, which was both a pain in the butt and a blessing because it allowed me to hide the edges of the gold trim I put on the dress. The phoenix was taken from looking at several pictures and the action figure. It was much fun painting, although I must say that the phoenix on the front is much skinnier than the one I painted on the back. The shoes were cute but the rubbed blisters on my feet.
~Number 3, blue and white Chinese dress from the 3rd game. Like the first one this one is fully lined and I had to once again fight with the pattern to make it look right. The phoenix on this one was much more difficult to figure out because I couldn't find any really good full pictures of it, so some of it is guess work. I did go over it 3 times instead of the two that I did on the first one which I think helped a lot! Once again the shoes were a pain in the butt. And rubbed major blisters on my feet. I hate heels!!
~Number 4, leather outfit from Ultimate. By this time I was fed up with heels so I made one of her costumes without heels. I was planning on making the leather one from the second game but when I saw the one from ultimate I fell in love with it. That and I had mesh to use for the front. The pleather stuff I have I got ten yards of at Walmart, at the time I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for, but when you see really nice pleather for $1.00 per yard you buy it and ask questions later. The boots I used were ones that had been in my closet long ago and had previously been used for Rinoa, I just had to get pink shoe laces. My feet were so much happier.
~Number 5, green and orange circus outfit from the 2nd game. I really wanted to make this costume for a while but never found the right colors. Well I finally found them at the Denver Fabrics annex. The shirt was found at Savers and cut off. The shoes were originally black shoes I got at Walmart for $5.00 and I hot glued the fabric onto the shoes and painted the soles gold, which has since come off. The patches I had to buy online because I couldn't find regular YingYang patches in any stores I went to.
~Number 6, red and white from Ultimate. Fairly simple compaired to the last one, it really only gave me two problems. One white fabric is really see-through, so I had to line the pants. Two I had to sew gold bias binding to the red pipping before sewing the pipping to the top and the pants. The last isn't really a problem more of a pain.
