| Even though I look absolutely terrible with blond hair I loved Robin's character enough to try the costume. The dress was the easiest even though I had to alter the pattern. The coat I had all made then I was ironing the sleeves and melted part of the fabric on one of them. So I had to remake it. I think my favorite part about the coat is the buttons, they have a little decorated cross on them. I cheated on the necklace by getting it on ebay. The wig was the biggest pain in the butt. I bought three really cheap craptastic wigs at Walmart cut them apart and sewed them together to give the wig enough hair. Then put them into the two really crappy handle bar style she wears, and wrapped them with bias binding, the wig is so unruly and I did a terrible job of cutting it.. The glasses are really cheap reading glasses from Walmart. The gloves I found at walmart actually matched the color of the jacket without messing with them. The under corset thing I made off of a german pattern given to me by a coworker. Thank goodness for pictures, cause I can't read german. ~.~ |
