SUMMER PROGRAMS

Mt. Carmel Preschool and Child Development Center is a state licensed facility, serving children ages three through twelve. We operate a Preschool Program as well as a full year extended ChildCare Program known as Club Mt. Carmel. We have been serving the needs of the community since 1972. We are located within the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church facility. We believe in the total development of the whole child; social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth from a Christian perspective.

What We Do...

We have many opportunities for learning while having fun. We participate in many activities, including art, crafts, drama, music, engineering projects, trivia, contests, sports, games and much more.

Our hours of operation are from 6:45am till 6:00pm. We chose these hours to accomodate the hard working parents in our community. Some may say that ChildCare is just glorified babysitting. This couldn't be further from the truth. Our staff takes careful thought and planning to come up with interesting and fun activities that allow the children to learn while having fun. Most of the time they are enjoying themselves so much they do not know that they are learning vital skills, such as problem- solving and cooperation. Statistics show that children who are involved in afterschool programs, perform much better academically and develop faster socially than children who are latch-key or left alone after school.
