It wouldn't be possible without... |
Before I go any further, I'd just like to say that it wouldn't be possible without the support of some people out there. I can guarantee you that my thank you list is a lot shorter than those at the Oscars. So I'd like to give thanks to where it is due: |

My Family |
God |
I'd just like to say thank you: for guiding my interest to pursue such a challenge; for giving me strength and perserverance to train diligently; for providing beautiful weather on Summit day; for keeping the AAI teams (and me) safe while on the mountain; and for delivering all of us back home to loved ones. |
Others |
A BIG BIG thank you to my wife Penny who puts up with my mountaineering hobby (passion) and allowed me to go again in 2006 just after going out and getting my feet wet in 2005. She would have preferred 2007 as my next trip, but she knows how I like to have a big goal out there to push myself for achieving. So thanks, dear!! |
Another BIG BIG thank you to my kids, who in their own way, really sacrifice some daddy time because of considerable time spent training - which includes bike rides & hikes during the week as well as 3-5 hour long weekend training / physical activity sessions. Plus, there's some things I just am reluctanct to do - like roller skating - in the 2 months prior to a big hike / climb like this. :) So thank you for always understanding. |
Also, I'd say thank you to my company as well as some of my bosses / managers. Their personal management style and general interest helps me to facilitate setting a challenge like this and pursuing it. |
Thank You Everyone! |
Lastly, for all those others who know about my trip, and sent well wishes, prayers or just plain old good karma my way, I really appreciated it!. |
My AAI Rainier Guides |
Dave, Duane & Brent: a big shout out to you for a great trip!! Thanks for the expert guidance, getting us up and down safely, and those hot meals/drinks in the Posh Tent! You guys make AAI the World Class organization that it is. I'm coming back for another trip ('08) - - okay, as soon as Penny says I can go. (haha) |
