On Wednesday, we had a table set up at the Student Organizations Fair on the KUC lawn from 10-2. We handed out literature and had prospective new members sign a sheet so we could e-mail and remind them of Monday's meeting. The event went really well and we had a lot of positive feedback. The Circle Kers who voluteered to work the table also got a chance to get to know each other better. We walked in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk on Sunday, Sept. 17. On Saturday, we sold pinups at Kroger and Bi-Lo on Memorial Blvd. to raise money for our team. Above, Shea, Jason and Amanda took a break to smile for the camera at their setup at Kroger. They raised $110.52. Ryan, Chris, Becky, Sarah and Lisa raised $212.40 at Bi-Lo! A total of $332.92 for the American Heart Association! The second picture is of all the walkers! L to R= Lisa, Jason, Corinne, Becky, Chris, and Sarah.

Circle Kers signed up new members for the Raider Rewards school spirit program at the Homecoming football game. Afterward, we got the pleasure of watching our Blue Raiders stop Louisiana-Monroe, and watch the goal post get torn down! Circle Kers volunteered Oct. 24-26 for the June Anderson Women's Center's Clothesline Project. This project, spear headed by our very own Lara James allowed women or friends of women who have been domestically abused to create their own T-shirt to be displayed in the KUC courtyard, representing their feelings toward domestic abuse. Circle Kers gave up their Halloween evening to spend time working with children at the Children's Discovery House. Below, Shea and Lara work the duck pond.
Our charter banquet was held on Wednesday at the Stones River Country Club. We were blessed by the presence of our District Administrator Bill Larson who presented us with a bell/gavel and our official charter. Our official charter date with international is Sept. 20, 2000 and our charter number is 72712. Below is Alisa, Becky, Maggie, Jason and Josh with the charter.
We put down our books and picked up service trays! At the benefit catored by Outback Steakhouse we put up decorations and helped work with clean up after dinner. We had a blast and the decorations were wonderful! Below, Circle Kers pose with a really cool balloon Santa!

We held a bake sale in the KUC to benefit the Hughes family Christmas project. We raised $180!!!!!!! That's a lot of cookies and hot chocolate! First, Lisa gives Sarah a "look" as she sneaks a bite. Then, the "overall gals" (Sarah, Becky, Kelley) and Winston push cookies!
We worked the PBS telethon on Thursday, Nov. 30 from 6:30-10:00 p.m. Our efforts raised $9,000 for Nashville Public Television!
On Dec. 2, we painted an office for the Domestic Violence Program. Below, Becky and Kelley paint each other up a bit! And then, Becky JUMPS into service! (and then she broke her toe!)
On Dec. 4, we took a break from service and held our Circle K Christmas Party! There were about 18 people in attendance. We ate, watched Christmas Vacation and exchanged elephant gifts. Nobody will owe up to the dead fish! I just don't understand why not!
We helped with the Kiwanis VA Bingo on Friday, Dec. 8th. We made lots of friends and had lots of fun!!! Sarah was even told that she was "just like baby bears porridge.... just right." What a great pick-up line! Below, Winston calls numbers and Sarah hands out prizes!
On Friday, Dec. 15, club members stuffed gift bags for children as part of the Miles of Dimes program. More info and pictures coming soon!
After a semester of collecting, our cell phone drive has ended! The Indiana District's goal is to get 500 cellular telephones to donate to the Call to Protect Program by mid-February. Thanks to the hard work of all of our members, we will be donating 139 phones to their cause!!!! That's teamwork! Below, Becky tests out the cell phones with District Administrator Bill Larson.
Becky and Josh travelled to Knoxville to help with the Cystic Fibrosis street collections and Great Strides walk. Along with the president of the Halls Kiwanis Club, and Becky's mom and brother, we were able to raise $785 for CF!!!! As a celebration of our first year, we invited out all the area K Family members, and their families to celebrate with us! We had a great program, great food, and a great performers!
