Great MAC season comes to an end

Western Michigan's loss to Richmond in the Quarterfinals of the WNIT brought to an end what may have been the MAC's best year ever.

A record four teams played in the postseason and earned three wins in the WNIT. MAC Tournament Champion Eastern Michigan came within a shot of beating 3rd-seeded Boston College in the NCAA Tournament.

The MAC also posted what may have been its best conference RPI ever, finishing 11th out of the 31 Division I conferences, according to CollegeRPI.com.

As good as 2003-04 was, the future also looks bright as 13 of the MAC's top 20 scorers return for the 2004-05 season along with seven of the 10 players named to the All-MAC First and Second Teams.
