Me and Muddy Trainers | ||||||||||||||||||
My first 'mud' | ||||||||||||||||||

I have enjoyed getting my trainers, (sorry - I'm from the UK, so you may call them 'sneakers') boots, wellies, and shoes muddy for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories as a child of about 3 or 4 was going for a walk with my mum, a friend of hers, and her son of my age. We went over some fields near our homes and as young children do, both my friend and I enjoyed playing in the mud and getting our wellies as muddy as we could. |

But when we got back to my friends house, as soon as his mum opened the door we both ran in together, without taking off our boots. So we left a trail of muddy footprints from the front door into the house, all over what had been a very clean carpet! As we ran over the carpet, we both stamped and trod as much mud as we could from our boots onto the carpets. We both got into a lot of trouble for that, but while I can't speak for my friend, I certainly enjoyed it............... and I still do! |

So what is this web-site all about...?
Until I discovered the internet, I thought that I must have been unique in my 'interest' in muddy trainers, and that nobody else would ever have also be interested in muddy footwear. However after even a few simple searches, and following links from one site to another, I discovered that across the world, others have a similar interest. I also enjoyed the photos, chat and comments on these other web sites. So this web site is about putting something back to the 'muddy' internet community. It is not intended to have restricted access (unless people start to steal the pictures and copy them onto their web-sites without acknowledgement - please be warned). Also the pictures on this web-site are not obscene in any way, so people can enjoy them in what ever way they are interested in them (But please see the warning about the external links on the 'Links' page) The site is NOT about me, or about me wanting to meet up with like-minded people. I am happy with my personal interest remaining personal to me. But you can email me at muddytrainers@yahoo.co.uk to let me know what you think of the site, or any suggestions or feedback, or any links I can add But as I said, I'm not doing this to meet anyone else! |

OK, but what am I interested in?

Well it should be obvious that I am mainly into muddy trainers (training shoes/sports-shoes/sneakers - call them what you want). I particularly like getting 'Astro-turf' football trainers muddy, as the soles really hold the mud, and as they are designed for football, many other people walk around in muddy astro-turf trainers. However I also like getting running shoes muddy, and cross-trainers. I also have a soft-spot for getting the true classic white trainers muddy - no, sorry lads, not Reeboks, but the TRUE classic white trainers - Hi-Tec 'Squash' training shoes. |
||||||||||||||||||
But what I do really like is getting my trainers muddy and then walking around with them on, whether walking around generally, going to town and into shops with them on, or walking around in the house. Yes, this means I have to clean up the mud afterwards - in my house anyway - but there is nothing better that walking around on carpets with muddy trainers, and leaving a trail of muddy footprints to show how muddy your trainers were! I must admit to in the past not being too careful about wiping my feet, such as when I was at college, and as a student you were probably expected to take the muddy short-cut, rather than the long path, even if it just happened to get your trainers muddy! Another one of my favourites is to visit new home building sites, which are muddy by there nature, and visit the show-homes. These homes always look un-naturally clean and not 'lived-in', so a trail of muddy footprints around the house always look more homely. It is amazing how understanding people can be if you may be spending a lot of money on a house....! I am not into getting work boots muddy, or anything like womens footwear (just in case you were wondering!). I also am not into 'full' (WAM) mudding, such as wallowing or bathing in it. To me, mud is for getting on footwear. But I do also enjoy getting wellington boots muddy, and sports (walking/hiking) boots, and some photos of these should be appearing on this site soon. So there you have it. Enjoy the site! |
