It was interesting to read about your story. I have suffered with the disease since 1971. My bowel did burst in 1982 and I nearly died. I have chronic diah...and the medications I am taking don't seem to help one bit. I take iron, pentasa, questran, a
d folic acid. I have had several polyps removed, but they have not shown any cancer. I wish I knew what to eat that would help me tolerate food. If you have any diet information, I would appreciate it so much. Thank you.

fortunate to find a woman GI dr. who is straightforward and helpful. she is wonderful and really a Godsend. She put me through a colonoscopy (my 1st, and not bad at all), and a small bowel study (not bad either). she insisted that i come into her office,
and bowled me over by telling me that my disease was worse than she thought: i have a 15cm patch of crohn's in my terminal iileum that is greatly narrowed and my risk for bowel obstruction is very high. she put me on pentasa, cipro (to knock out the infec

I read your page. What I'm going through looks like the common cold in comparison. I really don't know what I have yet. I was diagnosed with Lupus middle-late last year. I've been having strange symptoms on and off including with my abdomen. I can't
at vegs. or fruit or high fiber. Needless to say I don't have a problem with constipation. It can be embarrassing at times and keeps me grounded at work or home bcause I'm afraid to venture out. The gastro-enterologist believes it is colitus, but needs
to have a look first. I go for my colonoscopy on Wednesday. I am presently on predinose 10mg. for the symptoms of Lupus, but was told to keep taking it for the pains I have in my abdomen.
I'm a 34 year old single parent of a nine year old. She can't understand why mommy is always so sick. Especially when I want to do things outdoors with her like to to the movies and can't because symptoms will come up for no reason. Its scary and sad.
I don't want to think about a bleak future. I don't like the fact of being on the Predinsone, but I feel it is really holding me together.
All I can say is I'm a little scared. Writing this now makes me feel a little better. Thank you for you site and being open about your condition. I don't feel so alone

My dad was just admitted to the hospital this afternoon. The doctor mentioned words such as, "crohn, stomach infection, parasites, etc.,,"
This made me curious, that is why I was surfing the net and stumbled onto your webpage. Glad to know that you are doing better. My dad started having these problems a week ago. I took him to the hospital on Tuesday and they let him out, told him to stay
t home and not go to work for the week. But, of course, he doesn't listen and goes to work the next day. He's just too stubborn. I knew he would wind up back in the hospital. What should I do? I don't know exactly what he has, he is suppose to stay in the
hospital for a few days to run some tests. I will keep in touch.

Thanks so much for posting your web page and your story. I was diagnosed with Chron's about 2 years ago. I had a flare-up 3 weeks ago and am now on Prednisone (started at 40 mg and am now at 20 mg). The Prednisone has definitely get the immediate sympto
s of the flare under control, but I'm noticing other symptoms like the fever and chills are back and I'm tired. Which I'm sure you know, makes it really hard to have a life (and I don't even have any kids...).

I guess what I am trying to say is, keep your faith. Remeber that you have three beautiful children and a loving husband who are willing to bend over backwards for oyu. And you also have god to guide you. So just keep a positive attitude and everything
