![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you Mona for this perfect gift! Chihuahuas are one of the most interesting breeds. I have four Chihuahuas and they all have their own personalities, as do all individuals, but the Chi personality is based on high intelligence, pride, and even a sense of humor. These traits I have seen not only in my own but also in those of several Chis that belong to my friends. I have chatted, on the web, extensively with Chihuahua lovers from all over the world and have found these traits to be universal. The intelligence levels that I have seen range from knowing one's name to search and rescue abilities. My Chihuahuas have displayed a deep understanding of human communication both verbal and body language. Pride is another trait that I see in my Chis. This can be most impressive to see when one of them is posed in the standing standard of the Chihuahua with the head held high, tail curled up and to the side and ears cocked at 45 degree angles. They also have a very stubborn streak of pride that can interfere with obedience training if one is unfamiliar with the breed. A sense of humor is an asset for anyone, but in the Chihuahua it can keep you laughing and brighten even your saddest of days. One of my Chihuahuas, Mocha, has pulled many a prank on her Chi half sister Gracie. The most notable one to date is when she would take a pull/tug toy up onto the sofa and hold it in her mouth over the edge. When her sister, as a tiny pup, would come by she would grab the toy and start tugging. Mocha, on the sofa, would pull back and raise Gracie up off the floor and then, with a twinkle in her eye, let go of the toy and leap to the edge to watch Gracie fall. Gracie, unaware that she was just made the fool, would run off with the toy and Mocha would follow and they would play tug of war. Mocha would win the prize and the process would start over. This site is dedicated to my Chihuahuas and those of my friends and the many Chi pals I have met on the web. Enjoy my site and come back as I update often. ![]()
