$50,000.00 reward offered in unsolved Sept. killing

By KATE RAMUNNI kramunni@ctpost.com
Friday, May 17, 2002 - Bridgeport

Eight months hasn't dulled the constant pain Eva Kiss has lived with since
she received word her only child was shot to death.
But now Kiss has a glimmer of hope that the "animals who killed her son     will be brought to justice.
Gov. John G. Rowland has announced the state is offering a $50,000
reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person
who killed Zoltan "Zeus Kiss.
Zoltan Kiss was gunned down early in the morning of Sept. 28, 2001, on
Pembroke Street,  The 24-year-old Canadian resident was shot more than
15 times as he sat in his car about 3 a.m.  He had no criminal record, and
no drugs were found in his possession, police said.
"To date, no further significant leads have been developed, said State's
Attorney Jonathan Benedict, who asked the governor to approve the
reward.  "It is strongly felt, however, that there are people who have
useful information to contribute and who may come forward with
sufficient inducement.
Since her son's murder, finding those responsible has become an
obsession for Kiss, who lives in Toronto.
She has worked relentlessly to make the reward a reality, contacting state
officials and Bridgeport police to lobby for the action.
She is even working overtime with the intention of adding her own money
to the reward to entice anyone with information to come forward.
"This has been a long battle, Kiss. said.  She has channeled her grief into
Web pages dedicated to her son

Anyone with information about the Zoltan Kiss homicide case is asked to
call the Detective Bureau at
576-7624.  Calls will be kept confidential.

Staff writer Daniel Tepfer contributed to this report.
That's what makes it so hard for Eva Kiss.
"I could understand if he were some kind of thug, but he wasn't, she said,    "and [those responsible for the killing] are out there enjoying life.

This song, is a song my Son loved to listen to. Through many weeks of tears, and the
immense amount of help - from others, I have  included it into my Son's Website.
Zolika - June 11th, you would have been '25' years old. Mama and I went for a very
long walk. At exactly 1:27p.m., we stopped and I said a quiet 'Happy Birthday' to you.
You completed my life, and without you, and the thought of never, ever seeing you
again, it is just too much. I re-lived that day, when you just wouldn't come out, and I
just wanted to go home. You were, and always will be -
EVERYTHING to me.
