JAN BARTOLD sailed from Bremen, Germany on the S.S Barbarossa on May 14, 1905 and arrived at the Port of New York on March 24, 1905. His final destination was to the home of Tomasz Kolakowski in Glen Lyon, PA.

Immigrants Aboard ShipJan was traveling with four individuals who were also going to Tomasz Kolakowski's home. The other people were: Stefania Kolokowski, Jan Cichowski, Mateus Niedzalkowski, and Pawel Kolakowski. According to the manifest, all five were related to Tomasz.

Stefania, age 23, said that Tomasz was her husband; Jan Cichowski, age 23, said that he was his brother-in-law. Mateus Niedzalkowski claimed that Tomasz Kolakowski was his cousin and Pawel Kolakowski, age 27, said that Tomasz was his brother. The most interesting and startling information on the manifest is that Jan Bartold stated that Tomasz Kolakowski was his son-in-law! More research is needed to confirm this.
