The Voyage

Ships They Sailed - 1888-1928

Remember, remember always, that all of us...
are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.
Franklin D.Roosevelt

Our ancestors immigrated to the United States during a forty year time span.....1888 to 1928. The first to start a new life in America was Giovanni Ferrari; the last to arrive was Argilio Musetti. Some people made the crossing more than once; not all remained in this country. They embarked upon their journeys from eight different ports in Europe. Most arrived at the Port of New York and were admitted through Ellis Island; however, Giovanni Ferrari's arrival predates Ellis Island. He was processed through Castle Garden. When Walter Zalenski made his first trip to the United States, he disembarked in Baltimore.
