Wycinanki

At one time Polish peasants  decorated the walls of their homes with beautiful  colorful papercuts. This folk art form  called Wycinanki, originated in an area  of Poland north of Warsaw.  It began with single color papercuts, but then expanded to more complex multi-colored designs.  The Poles also used the papercuts to decorate furniture, cupboards, cradles, and shelves.
