JEFF CHANG (FAITH) (SONY MUSIC) (JUN00)
簡單直接、反璞真誠的觸動人心,文藝復興新情歌,昇華張信哲式的音樂 新效應
Jeff Chang (or Zhang Xing Zhe) has released his brand new album "Faith" (side-note : if you are an avid fan of Jeff and have bought all his albums to date, you may have noticed that all his album titles are so far made up of two-word characters).

The most note-worthy mention about his latest offering must be that of his re-pairing with producer Jonathan Lee.  Jeff is also the first male artiste outside Rock Records to have his music produced by Jonathan Lee (note : on the other hand, Coco Lee is the first female artiste outside Rock Records to have worked with the music guru - they collaborated in her last Mandarin album "Today Till Forever").  The two guys have worked together before when Jeff's earlier albums were distributed by Rock Records, the most memorable being his "Love Like A Tide" (or Ai Ru Chao Shui) release.

Out of the ten tracks, five of them are produced by Jonathan Lee.  The latter reportedly wanted to oversee the whole album in the beginning but due to his "expensive" production fee, Sony Music finally negotiated successfully with him to take charge of only half the album.

The first ballad single "Love Won't Stay" is a Jonathan Lee production, the lyrics also written by him.  In Taiwan, this song is the Chinese theme-song for the Japanese TV hit serial "Beautiful Life" starring Kimura Takuya.  Its music video (as well as the album pictures) are specially shot in Canada where Jonathan Lee lives with his wife Sandy Lam.  In the MTV, it also features Jeff's first screen kiss which was smooched with a nineteen-year-old Canadian Chinese girl.

Other music producers include Li Si Song, Chen Yao Chuan and Jeff himself.  The songs are largely mainstream pop.  Some of the recommended tracks by the record company include the title track "Faith" which sounds a bit out-dated to me (composed and co-written by Chen Yao Chuan) and a Jeff Chang-signature style ballad "I Can Believe".

If you have RealPlayer , you can click below to preview the five new tracks.
Love Won't Stay   愛不留 --------
I Can Believe  我能相信  --------
Faith   信仰  --------
You Definitely Can   一定可以  --------

POWER STATION (MILLION COLLECTION) (WHAT'S MUSIC) (JUN00)
從1997到2000爆發無盡能量,直擊人心的震撼,動力火車第一張百萬銷售精選紀錄

Power Station (or Dong Li Huo Che) has joined the tide of collection album wave by releasing their first comprehensive compilation offering.

Comprising of two CDs, there are ten songs in CD 1 and ten tracks in CD 2.

Out of the ten songs in CD 1, two of them are brand new recordings : the first ballad single "Second Time Breakup" is composed by Liu Tian Jian & written by Adam Hsu Chang De, and it sounds like one of their signature ballads; the other new track is the slow-rock "Don't Say Love Me Anymore" which is arranged aptly by their colleague rock group Chairman or Dong Shi Zhang Yue Tuan (note : both groups belong to the same music company Grand Music).

The remaining eight tracks in CD 1 comprise of their more memorable hits from the period 1997-1999 such as "Who Else To Love Besides Loving You" (or Chu Le Ai Ni Hai Neng Ai Shui), "Not Willing, Not Giving Up" (or Bu Gan Xin Bu Fang Shou), "Heartless Love Letter" (or Wu Qing De Qing Shu) and "I Don't Know" (or Wo Bu Zhi Dao).  Refer below for the full song listing in Big5 Chinese.

CD 2 is titled "Live Collection" because all the tracks are recordings from their live on-stage performances, which include some relatively well-known cover versions like A Mei's "Listen To The Sea" (or Ting Hai) and Faye Wong's "You Are Happy So I Am Happy" (or Ni Kuai Le Suo Yi Wo Kuai Le).  (Side-Note : Power Station has previously released a 1998 live album titled "Power Station & Speed - Pub Tour Recording 1998).
