EARLY ACT

A school-wide service club for elementary students from ages 5 to 13.
Students will be engaged in character-building activities that prepares them for leadership roles to identify and carry out projects which benefit their school, local and global communities.

The mission of EarlyAct is to promote goodwill, understanding and peace through the active participation of its student members so that with committed citizenship and effective leadership they may improve the quality of life of their school, local and global communities.

Objectives

Frelinghuysen students will achieve the following objectives through participation in EartyAct"

Students will develop an increase awareness and understanding of the community and their global neighbors.
Students will develop character traits (respect, caring, and dignity) through community service on a local, regional and global level.
Students will develop their goal setting, problem solving, and leadership skills by participating in community service for the environment and others.

Distribute boxes, collect, count and roll change for deposit.

NOVEMBER - "Cards of Thanks" NJ Veterans                       First Grade

DECEMBER - Mitten Tree - Donating Mittens, Gloves            Fifth Grade
Display tree in lobby for placement of donated mittens, gloves, hats & scarves for local families in need.

JANUARY - Canned Food collection for local pantries            Fourth Grade
Boxes to be placed in each classroom for collection, pick up donations weekly.

FEBRUARY - Kindness Tree: School-wide recognition of        Second Grade
Good citizenship

APRIL - School Grounds Care: Clean up of playground         Third Grade
Sports fields

MAY - Spring planting on school grounds                               Kindergarten
