In the name of God Amen, the fifth day of April in the year of our Lord 1727, I, THOMAS JUEL of Amwell in the county of Hunterdon in the province West Jersey, yeoman, being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye, do make and ordain this my Last will and testament, that is to say principally, and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my Body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a christian like and decent manner, at the Discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life, I give, devise, and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
Imprimis, I make Joseph Bur and my well beloved wife NELLY JUEL my Executors and leave unto them full power as all tho I was there myself or as I myself could do, and as for the plantation, I will to my beloved wife during her widowhood, and then equally to be divided amongst my three sons, and as for the moveables are to be sold at vendue excepting the three best [goods?] or the three [goods?] my said wife shall like. Be it and as for my children, I leave solely to my dear beloved wife to do with them as she shall see fit, and as for binding them out to any trade that is if she be so minded to do, and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke, and disannul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, and executors by me in any ways before this time named, willed, and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written. Signed, sealed, published, and declared by the said THOMAS JUEL as his last will and testament in the presence of us,

Be it Remembered that on this present First Day of May Anno Dom: one thousand seven hundred and Twenty seven personally came and appeared before me SAMUEL BUSSILL D Register of the Western Division of the province of New Jersey Duly Commissioned &c: EDWARD BUTLAR one of the witnesses subscribed to the above Will who on his solemn oath which he took on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God doth depose that he was present and saw the above named THOMAS JEWELL sign and seal and heard him publish, pronounce, and declare the above written Instrument to be his last will and testament and at the doing thereof the Testator was of sound mind and memory to the best of his knowledge and understanding; and that at the same time also GERSHOM HULL and PETER PRALL the other subscribed witnesses were present.

This first Day of May anno Dom: one Thousand Seven hundred and Twenty Seven personally came and appeared before me SAMUEL BUSSILL Surrogate and Register &c., NELLY JUELL the Executrix within named who on her solemn oath which she took on ye holy Evangelist of Almighty God doth depose that the within written Instrument contains the Last Will and Testament of her late husband THOMAS JEWELL the Testator within named as far as she knows and believes and that she will well and Truly perform ye Same, by paying first the Debts and then ye Legacys contained in ye within Will, so far forth as ye Goods, Chattels, and Credits of ye said Decd. can thereunto Extend or ye Law will Charge and that she will make a True and perfect Inventory and also render a just Account when thereunto required.
