John and Rachel Orr

      JOHN ORR was born about 1700-1710 in Scotland. On October 11, 1726 probably in Scotland, he married RACHEL______. John and Rachel Orr migrated from either Scotland or Ireland to America about 1749, as it is alleged that their youngest son ROBERT ORR was born at sea. They are believed to have settled in Pennsylvania, and later migrated to Old Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The 1740 bible containing their marriage and the births of their children is as follows:
