Know all men by these presents that I RICHARD STOUT of Midltown in ye County of Monmouth and province of East New Jersey for a valuable Consideration by me Received of JAMES STOUT my Son of ye same place wherewith I acknowledge myself well satisfied & Contented Have Aliened Granted Bargained & Sold and by these presents Alien Grant Bargain and Sell unto ye Sd. JAMES STOUT his Heires & assigns All that tract of Land Situated Lying & being in ye County of Monmouth aforesd. at a place Called Romanis or Hope River, Beginning where Division Runn comes into hope river & running North west at three degrees more Northerly fiftie two Chaines then North East four & twentie Chains to a brook which is also ye bounds of Bown’s land then ___ down ye sd brook runnes to Hope River & then W as Hope river runnes to ye place where it begann bounded N:E: by sd. Bownes Brook, S:E: by Hope River, S:W: by JONATHAN STOUTs land, N:W: by Land unappropriated. Also five acres of meadow at Coneseunck Joyning to DAVID STOUTs meadow Together with all ye feedings pastures meadows waters Brooks Springes trees woods ways passages houses buildings fences Improvements Easements profitts & commodities to ye same belonging or in any maner of wayes appertaining and all ye Estate Right Title Interest Reversion Remainder Clame & demand whatsoever of me by sd RICHARD STOUT of in to or out of ye Same or any part or parcel thereof as amply & fully to all Constructions Intents & purposes as ye same was granted & assured unto me by patent (amongst other tracts), from ye proprietors of ye sd province of ye date ye fourth day of January Anno Domini one thousand six hundred and Eighty Seven. To Have and to Hold ye sd. Tract of Land meadow plantation & premises with their & Every of their appurtonances unto him ye sd JAMES STOUT His Heires & assigns for Ever To & for ye only use & behoofe of him ye sd. JAMES STOUT his Heires & assigns for Ever Yielding and paying therefore ye yearly Cheife Quit rent of ____ Sterling as it becomes due & payable unto ye proprietors of ye sd province their Heires or Assigns for ye sd. Tract of land in Lein and Stead of all other Services Demands whatsoever. And I ye sd. RICHARD STOUT doth hereby for my self my Heires Exters & adminrs Covenant grant promise & agree to & with ye sd. JAMES STOUT his Heires & assigns that I ye sd RICHARD STOUT at ye time of ye makeing hereof am Seized of ye bargained premises of a good sure absolute & undefeazeable Estate of Inheritance in ye Law in fee simple to me my Heires & assigns for Ever. And that ye same is free from any former or other gift grant bargain sale mortgage Joynture bonds or any other Incumbrance whatsoever had made done suffered or committed by me ye Richard Stout or by any other person or persons by my Consent or procurement so as to alter change or make voyd ye same ____. In witness whereof I do hereunto sett my hand & seal this 29th day of June Anno Dom: 1690.

28th Septr 1690 (or 1698) JOHN REID & DAVID STOUT both Subscribing Witnesses to ___ written deed came into open Court & did Solemnly declair that they did see ye within mentioned RICHARD STOUT SENR did sign seal and deliver ye wthin mentioned deed as his free & voluntary act & deed to ye use within mentioned.
