To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come I RICHARD STOUTT SENIOR of Mid[d]letoun in the County of Monmouth in the province of East new Jersey in America yeoman, send Greeting in our Lord God everlasting Whereas the proprietors of East new Jersey did by pattent bearing date the fourth of June one Thousand Six hundred Seaventy Seaven grant unto me a certaine Tract of land lying in the liberty of Mid[d]letoun commonly known & called by the name of Waramaness Know you That I the sd RICHARD STOUTT for diverse causes & valuable considerationes me thereunto moveing, but more especially ffor & In Consideratione of the naturall love & affectione which I doe beare unto my loveing Sone JONATHAN STOUTT of Mid[d]letoun aforesd farmer, I the sd RICHARD STOUTT being in perfect memory have given granted & confirmed and by these presents doe fully freely & absolutely give grant & confirme unto the sd JONATHAN STOUTT my sone one part of the sd Tract by pattent Specified Begining at a white oake tree marked on four Sides Standing on the bank of Hope River upon a Small point of land near the Southeast part of the foresd Tract by pattent Specified, Thence running near northwest or thereabouts to a walnutt tree Thence upon a Straight line running to a black oake tree marked on two Sides Standing on the South Side of a barren hill on the northwest part of the foresd Tract Thence holding the sd Straite line to the bound marked trees on the barren hill, thence running as the marked trees rune along the barren hill till it comes to a maple tree marked on four Sides Standing on the bank of the hope river, Thence runeing along the hope river as the hope river runes till it meets with the first mentioned white oake tree, bounded South by John Bowne, east by the hope river & his own land, west by the barren hill north by a division line, and ffive acres of meadow lying in Conesconk to be taken oof from the east Side of my Thirty acres & to be in length thirty & in breadth one & two thirds of a Chaine with all profits & appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any maner of wise appertaining. To have and to hold the foresd parcells of land & meadow to him the sd JONATHAN STOUTT his heires & assignes for ever and to the onely proper use benefite & behoofe of him the Sd JONATHAN STOUTT his heires & assignes for ever. In Confirmation whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand & fixed my Seale this fourth of January one Thousand Six hundred Eighty Seaven & in the third year of the Reigne of our So. Lord James the Second of England Our King.
