Well here is our Encounter with Kasey Chambers. We went to Barooga Sports Club (Aust) to see Kasey play, we arrived at the club and signed in as we were signing in who was waiting behind us to sign in next (the whole band), (Kasey, Di, Bill, everyone!). Then we decided to have dinner first so we went to the bistro and had dinner and our table was next to Kasey’s. As Kasey left the bistro to get ready for the concert Mick stopped her and asked her to sign our copy of Red Desert Sky (the story of the life of the Chambers family)Kasey gladly signed the book and left to get ready for the concert. Mick and I had seen Kasey twice before and the crowds just get bigger every time and younger as well, which I think Kasey would like. Camille Tenahu opened the show with the help of guitarist Glen Hannah ,Camille was great and is in the process of making her c.d, which will be produced by Nash(Kasey’s brother).As always Di (Kasey’s mum) was there selling all the merchandise which consist’s of everything from c.d’s, t-shirts, stickers to even teddy bears with Kasey t-shirts on them! Kasey came out to do the show and the crowd went wild it was amazing to see the change in the audience compared to fourteen months ago! As always Kasey did a wonderful job even when some crowd control was needed as she could not hear herself sing! It was amazing to hear Kasey stop singing at some stages and hear the audience finish the lines and to see the smile on Bills face as this happened was pretty special too! Once the show had finished we hung around for a bit and we were lucky to catch Kasey as she was going up to the merchandise stand to sign autographs she really did not have a lot of time but we asked for a photo with her and she did even though she was wanted by 500 fan’s!As always we enjoyed the show and if anyone has the chance to see Kasey live do so it’s the best money you will spend!!
